Tiny Love Dual Motion Developmental Mobile

Tiny Love

It’s common practice that after you find out you are pregnant you register … easy right? WRONG! It’s overwhelming enough sharing your body with this little creature and not knowing what is going on in there, not to mention figuring out what you have to buy for him/her and which are the trusted brands. Sure, it would be easy if there was only one brand for every product, but clearly that is not the case.

Tiny Love is just one of those brands you just know, whether it be a friend who has one of their products in their house, a blogger you follow loves the brand or your older sibling has passed along their hand-me-down.

With my first born, I was super anxious about the transition from bassinet to crib as I didn’t want him to feel alone and neglected (I know you moms understand), so when he was about 3 months I started putting him in his crib for a short period of time daily, turned on his Tiny Love mobile and just let him watch in amazement. He would just lie there kicking his legs and wouldn’t take his eyes off the mobile watching it go around and around listing to soft music (I remember at one point it almost put me to sleep it was so calming). I continued this for a month and when it was time for the big transition, I actually felt at peace with my decision knowing that he was comfortable there and that he had his mobile to keep him company.

The newest Tiny Love mobile to hit the market is the Tiny Love Dual Motion Developmental Mobile and it’s amazing (kind of makes me want another baby … for a minute).

Tiny Love Dual Motion Developmental Mobile

What I Love about the Tiny Love Developmental Mobile

– Music includes: nature, lullaby, white sound and reggae (I love living in the 21st century)

No Spill Solution with the Playtex Twist ‘n Click Snacker Cup #MomTrust

Playtex Mom Trust

I have always been a huge fan of snacker cups, not only is it the best for on-the-go snacks, it’s a great item to help kids with independent eating.

When I first saw these years ago, I was loving the brilliant invention, however, my purse wasn’t loving it so much. I felt like there was always a surprise waiting for me at the bottom of my purse … Goldfish, Cheerio’s, Yogurt Melts … you know those great snacks that crush the minute something hard hits it, maybe like keys, your phone, wallet everything???!!! I could seriously feed a family of pigeons with the amount of crumbs at the bottom of purse and it drove me crazy.

It baffled my mind that someone did not think of something so simple like adding a lid to the snacker cup … well times they are a changin’ because now Playtex has come out with their version of a snacker cup and guess what?! It comes with a lid!!! High five Playtex.

Playtex Twist 'n Click Snacker Cup

Here’s what I love about the Twist ‘n Click Snacker Cup
– well clearly it comes with a lid!
– it has the Twist ‘n Click technology so you know the lid is locked
– the lid rotates (harder for the little one’s to grasp this concept so you have to do it for them) and sits under the cup while not being used and doesn’t get in the way
– it has an ergonomic handle, easy for the little one’s to hold onto
– dishwasher safe (always a bonus)
– the opening is soft enough to get their hands into

Happy Snacking

The Cadillac of the Baby Bath Tubs #Sassy – Enter to WIN!

Sassy Inspire the Senses Bath Tub

Who knew there could actually be a Cadillac of bath tubs?!!!

When my oldest guy was a baby, I bought 3 bathtubs: one I took out of the box and immediately returned it because it looked beyond uncomfortable, and two others I kept, but were absolutely nothing special, but did the job.

For those of you in the market for a bath tub, the Sassy Inspire the Senses Bath Tub is a must have and for those of you that have the standard bath tub, perhaps you should think about upgrading. I only recently found out that my littlest guy gets upset with transitions. Since my littlest guy was born we have been using the same tub and a month ago I decided to change him from the baby tub to a bigger tub and he FREAKEDDDDD!!!! It took him a few days to get used to it, but he calmed down eventually and calm bath time continued as normal. When I was invited to try out this new bathtub, I was slightly nervous about the switch, but he did not even shed a tear. In fact, it was just the opposite, he was kicking his legs and grabbing at the toys and even cried when I tried to take him out. Lucky the toys are detachable and he could take them out of the bath. Well if that’s not a glowing review (by my little guy), I don’t know what it is!

photo 1-4

What I like:
– Extremely easy to assemble (took under 5 minutes to put it together)
– Encourages developmental play
– Good for ages 0-2 (grows with your child)
– Comes with a great infant sling to attach to the bath which is perfect for the newbies and littlest ones (it’s machine washable too)
– Large basin (my biggest guy jumped into the tub with his brother and they both had the best time)
– Comes with 5 developmental toys (a cup, three bath squeeze toys and a light up hanging bug which is bar far my guys favourite)
– There is a tray that attaches to the bath to store the toys
– Love the signature Sassy company colours
– Extremely light weight

Playtex Smartspace Drying Rack – The Best of the Best #MomTrust

DryingRack_LRI have tested a lot of Playtex products and I have come to notice a common theme .. they take all the “problems” us moms have with particular products and then make the perfect product!!

Playtex has a new drying rack called the SmartSpace Drying Rack and as I mentioned in my first Playtex post, I absolutely love this product and for so many reasons .. where do I start??!!!!

1. The drying rack comes in a box where you assemble it (I know your first thought is UGHHHH) but honestly, it couldn’t be any easier to put together.

Playtex SmartSpace Drying Rack

2. Bottle racks can be big, bulky and frankly they are usually pretty ugly and not what you want to have out on your counter for a year .. not this one!!! This one comes with two identical parts that you can configure whatever way you want (put in separate locations, put side by side, in front of each other or put together as one), I love that it is basic colours (blue and white) and not cheap looking at all

Playtex SpaceSaver Drying Rack

3. It may look small but it sure holds A LOT! Leave it up to me to find an organized way to get as much as I can on there. It holds bottles, nipples, rings, valves, brushes, pacifiers and straws and I pretty much have it all on there

Playtex SmartSpace Drying Rack

4. It comes with DRYING MATS!!!! Yup no need to go out and buy some because it comes with two perfect sized drying mats to put underneath it so the water doesn’t drip all over your counter

Playtex SmartSpace Drying Rack

What wouldn’t you love about this bottle rack!!! If your in the market for one or you have one that you just don’t love, I dare you to try it out and I would love to hear about your experience, so make sure to comment below.

Boiron Helps with Cold and Flu Season

When it comes to colds and flus, I like to use all natural remedies. I have been using Boiron products since my older guy was born (my girlfriend swore by it), so when they asked me to review their line, I was happy to do so (and I got to test out new products that I hadn’t used before).

Boiron Products

Thanks Boiron for the great cold and flu pack, good timing #mommycold

As my 3 year old gets older, his colds seem to be getting more intense and those damn coughs last soooo much longer! Lucky for me, he went from one cold immediately to the next so it was a good time to try out the new Boiron products I had not yet tried. Even luckier for me, he passed along his cold to me so now I was able to try out the remedies for adults.

Well let me say that for the last four weeks I have had a lingering cough that has kept me up all night (and my husband). I have to sleep on a 90 degree angle just to stop coughing for a very small period of time. As I started to write this blog post, I remembered that some of the products I was sent were for adults and one specifically was for coughs (it’s like they knew) called Stodal and for real, last night was the first night I slept for four hours uninterrupted and I attribute that to Stodal and best part, it doesn’t taste awful like all the cold/cough medications on the market (cough syrup is disgusting). They also have a kids version ($10 kids, $15 adults)

Boiron Stodal

My first born was 7 months old when he got his first cold and a friend of mine, who’s daughter is older, told me she swore by Coryzalia and passed along a few samples for me to try out. Two and a half years later, I am still using it to help with decongestion, sneezing and runny nose. Now his nose runs pretty much all winter, but it did help with the continuous sneezing and the stuff nose along with a humidifier and being elevated. If your older one is like mine and comes home weekly with a cold and has gotten your little one sick, you can give this to your little guy starting at 1 month of age. $15 for kids, $14 for adults.

Ok so these are a must buy, Fever Bugz! When you are concerned that your little guy has a fever, peel and stick on to their forehead and then show them in the mirror and you will be sure to get a laugh out of them. The image that will come up will show you whether they have a temperature. Best part, they are reusable. I have a pack of these on every floor in my house .. you never know when you need them.

Fever Bugz

I was just introduced to Oscillococcinum (that’s a mouth full) to relieve flu symptoms and is good for the whole family. Nobody has yet to get a fever (I hope I didn’t just jinx myself) but when the time arises, we will try this out and will let you know. $21 for 12 doses

OscillococcinumLastly, there is one more remedy for cold/flu season called Cicadermine which provides relief for skin and nasal passage irritation from all the nose blowing. Made with plant extracts to soothe irritated skin and mucous membranes, it can be used to relieve the dry, and red skin around the nose, as well as in the treatment of chapped lips, and dry cuticles (hey why not) $9

Want to win a Babies R Us or Shoppers Drug Mart gift card to go buy the products? Click here to enter on Facebook

Good luck this cold and flu season, these products will sure be of help

Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park – Enter to Win a FREE Jumping Pass

Sky Zone

Would children view this as exercise .. NO!!!! Let me tell you, those kids are coming off the tramponlie’s completely red faced and out of breathe from all the running and jumping – this is actual exercise and my husband will attest to that!!!!

BEST PLACE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t even begin to explain how A-MAZING Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park is, but I am going to in a very lengthy post because this is one place that everyone (yes adults included) must experience at least once. Make sure to read through the whole post because there are so many different things this place has to offer!!! Being pregnant I was pretty sure that I shouldn’t go on and let me tell you there was pure jealousy going on – this kind of stuff is right up my alley!!!

What’s There:

For real .. what isn’t there is really the question!!!

First off every court has angled walls that you can jump off of. All those who have dreams of being Spider-Man, your dream might just come true here

There are 3 or 4 trampoline courts and then one MASSIVE court

sky zone

Frankie’s first jump!!!!

There is a large foam pit which have about 5 individual trampolines in front of the pit to run/jump/flip off of and land softly (and sink) – I saw some pretty cool flips!!! Frankie on the other hand clearly didn’t get the concept, he jumped on the trampoline and then crawled into the pit 🙂

Sky zone

He didn’t quite grasp the concept of jumping into the pit LOL!

Obviously we didn’t try it, but there are two trampoline basketball courts where you jump/flip (whatever your heart desires) down the trampoline and then do a slam dunk. There are two heights, one for the younger(ish) kids or smaller adults (lol) and one for the adults or taller kids

Sky Zone Basketball

Obviously not my child … but HOW COOL!!!!!!!!!

For the dodgeball players out there, they have regular courts that are all set up for dodgeball games. The staff here were all soooo nice and opened up one of the courts just for my husband and Frankie to jump by themselves.

Sky zone dodgeball

I’m actually not sure who is having more fun, my husband or my son???!!

There are three large party rooms each equipped with a tv and metal picnic tables for birthdays

Sky zone party room

One of the party rooms

Here’s How it Works:

– You buy a pass/ticket online at www.skyzone.com/toronto OR http://www.skyzone.com/mississauga for either jumping for half an hour or an hour. Yes you can walk in, however, I do not recommend it as they only sell 100 spots in order to keep the facility safe and if those are all sold when you come in you have to wait to jump (if you have a little one that to me just sounds like a disaster! Picture waiving candy in front of your child and then telling him/her they cant have it – YIKES!)

– When you go into the facility, you have to sign a waver. Read through it to make sure you are comfortable with everything. Then, you (the jumper) get a pair of what looks to be “moon” shoes (don’t worry footphobics, they are very clean) … little one’s just go bare foot.

– You go to the assigned court and a referee type person explains the rules of the trampoline and then you are off to jump free!

Some of the Rules:

Try explaining to a two year old the rules (it makes me laugh just thinking about it) – it’s really up to you the parent to try to explain in toddler terms what to do and not to do (this is not an easy task)

– As you can see from the the pictures, the courts are separated into squares and only one person can jump in a square at a time (really smart to avoid collisions). On the busier days, like weekends, there are certain number of spaces/squares that adults must keep from kids and larger kids from smaller kids, again to avoid collisions which any adult can appreciate. However, if you have a smaller child who especially is shy and wants to stick near their parent, that is a no no so maybe it is better at that point to stay on the side lines and watch.

– The blue pad partition’s are not there to sit and hang out on, a parent can stand on it to help steer their little one in the right direction but that’s really it.

What they Offer Besides Plain ol’ JUMPIN’:

– Skyrobics: If I wasn’t pregnant I would have been reviewing this because this sounds A-MAZING!!!!

– Toddler Time: Tuesday and Thursday mornings, there are toddler times which is great

– Dodgeball Leagues

– Private parties: you can rent out courts for adult or kids parties

Here’s how it ends:

The Holiday “Wish” List

I am not entirely sure if this is my wish list or Frankie’s wish list, either way it ends up in his hands 😉 So here it is in no particular order:

1. Vtech Cogsley

Kids best friend!!!! The learning robot with a million things to play with on him. From what I read, he has a fun personality, fun dance moves and is quite witty (I will be the judge of that)! He has an LCD screen that images appear on, he helps you learn body parts by asking you to “turn his ear”, “touch his nose” etc.
Where to Buy: Toys R Us
Price: I bought it for $45, online you can buy it for $35  (damn)

2. Discovery Kids Build-and-Play Construction Fort

discovery tent

I really wanted to buy another product like this and lucky for me my friend bought it first and told me she hated it, that it was the hardest thing to put together because the parts were so small. The upsetting part was that I knew how much Frankie would have loved it because he likes us to build forts out of our pillows. I stumbled upon this one and saw that the pieces were larger and I thought I would give it a try – let’s see what happens
Where to Buy: Loblaws Supercentre or Sears
Price: $30

3. Magneatos

Frankie loves magnets so much that he tries to play with the magnet that opens the kiddie locks on all the drawers which is on the side of my fridge. So, naturally I bought it! Make shapes, build towers, build just about anything – I already love this!
Where to Buy: Scholar’s Choice
Price: $70 (not cheap but I have heard wonderful things about this)

4. Wedgits

If you have a little builder in the house, then this is a neat product for them to try. 5 different shapes easily wedge together to make hundreds of designs. From what I understand, there is no wrong way to stack these
Where to Buy: Scholar’s Choice
Price: $36.99

5. Elefun

Instead of toys all the time, I decided to take a walk down the games isle and see if there were games for two year old’s and although there weren’t many, I saw this one and thought it looked like a ton of fun for the little one’s. The elephant spurts little butterflies out of his long nose and you have to catch them with the net. Now it would be more about catching them and when they are older they can count the butterflies to see who wins
Where to Buy: Indigo
Price: $25.00

6. Smart Snacks Count ‘Em Up Popcorn

Smart Snacks Count 'Em Popcorn

We are at the stage where Frankie counts everything … steps, trains, animals, marvel characters .. EVERYTHING, though I am not sure he really gets it. I saw this product and thought it would be great for teaching him to identify the numbers while stacking (another favorite in our household)
Where to Buy: Scholar’s Choice
Price: $19.99

Disclosure: I was NOT paid nor given any personal perks to review these products – these are products I have found that I thought would be great
